AFTRA to start Network TV Code Talks
The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists will commence discussions on November. 7 with ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, along with other producers for any successor contract towards the AFTRA Network Code agreement. The present deal is AFTRA's biggest contract, producing a lot more than $250 million annually in member earnings, and is applicable to any or all television programming except scripted prime-time shows around the major systems and also the CW.AFTRA's national board of company directors has given its settling committee a chance to take all actions considered necessary, including proceeding to some strike authorization election from the affected people. The present Network Television Code is scheduled to run out November. 15, but it will likely be extended on the day-to-day basis while discussions occur.
