Flatiron, Variance partner for 'Elite'

New Video's Flatiron Film and Variance Films are joining up for that U.S. discharge of Jos Padilha's crime thriller "Elite Squad: The Enemy Within," the greatest-grosser ever in South america in excess of $70 million. The follow up will open in NY on November. 11 as well as in La not much later, then a platform expansion to top marketplaces. The film is Brazil's official submission towards the Oscars and it has been tested around the festival circuit at Sundance, Berlinale, and Austin's Fantastic Fest. "Elite Squad: The Enemuy Within" is directed by Padilha and co-compiled by Padilha and Brulio Mantovani. Story happens within the sprawling slum that surrounds Rio p Janeiro and focuses on the mind of Rio's Special Police Procedures Battalion being charged with a massacre whenever a pursuit to quell a jail riot finishes within the violent dying of the gang leader.
